I mean f*ck Putin and everything, but isn't this true?

Forgive my ignorance and correct me if I have it wrong. But wasn't it Trump that tore up the agreement, and now he is bombing them purportedly to achieve the very thing that the agreement gave them, and in contravention of international law.

I hate the Iranian regime, but we have seen so many times how using military force to unseat regimes in the middle east has a habit of going very wrong.

Whatever happens, I hope the Iranians can get their country back, and a democracy, not just replacing this theocracy with a monarchy that doesn't represent their interests and isn't democratic.

Good luck to the Iranian people.

Can we stop with the one side or the other, this is going to destabilize the regime in Iran could be good or bad, depends on the next regime.

The Iranian government massacred at a minimum 8,000 of their citizens in the past two months. All of those high up in the IRGC deserve painful existences.

The US is playing world police, they are bad at it always.

For the Iranian diaspora they may be happy or anxious but they are allowed to feel this feeling.

What’s going on on Reddit currently is agprop or biases and you don’t need to pick a side, if you care find ways to support diaspora and when possible find ways to collectively organize and support Iranian citizens

Edit: This got 60 views right away with Bahrain & Israel viewing it at least 30% of the views. Those have changed to closer to my location now… I don’t want to say anything but it’s a bit suspicious

“9 Killed” is stated as fact, because it was verified by a NY Times correspondent who saw it with their own eyes. Iran is attributed, because it post-impact evidence indicates the missile was of Iranian origin.

“Iran Says” is used in the first headline, because the Times does not have a reporter on the ground who could independently verify the claim, and the evidential basis for the story needs to be attributed. “Strike” was used without attribution, because it could have been by either Israeli or American forces. (There’s also a small possibility the strike occurred as a result of errant defensive fire by the Iranians.)

The Times is reporting both stories. Differences in how headlines and stories are written reflect their evidential basis. It’s a required journalistic standard.
